How It All Began

The Roots of Lesmahagow In Bloom. It all began one evening at a Lesmahagow Community Council meeting, when someone voiced a simple but powerful idea: our area could flourish with the help of a group dedicated to enhancing communal spaces and nurturing community spirit. One Facebook post was all it took. A small but passionate group of volunteers came together, united by a shared vision—and just like that, Lesmahagow In Bloom was born. We quickly became friends of the Lesmahagow Community Council and, with the invaluable support of Ailsa, the Council Secretary, we submitted our first funding application. It was successful. Thanks to Ailsa’s continued guidance and encouragement, we’ve secured further funding, laying the groundwork for future projects that will help our village bloom in every sense of the word.
